The Beauty of Asu Island, Indonesia [PICS]

Asu island is a small island located near to Nias island, North Sumatra. The word "asu" in Javanese also meant as a "dog".

Asu island is in the Hinako archipelago and is one of the outer islands in Indonesia, this island's area is around 18km² with residents around 20 families.




For those who feel tired and stressed due to working, this island is the right island for you to remove all the stress out, the vibe is calm and the friendly locals will make tourists feel like at home.

The location of the island is located in the Sirompu district, Nias, North Sumatra. On this island, tourists can perform a variety of fun activities such as sunbathing on the beach, going around the island, swim at the beach, or surfing.

Although the island is far from the luxury level, it does not mean the island is no of visitors. The island is usually visited by local and foreign tourists who want to enjoy the tranquility of life.






To get in this island, tourists can use airplane from Medan Polonia Airport to Binaka Airport on Sitoli mountain. From the Sitoli Mountain tourists could proceed to Sirombu, which take approximately 1-2 hours. While from Sirombu there are 2 options to get to this island, that is: regular tourists can ride with boat costing around Rp40,000/person and the time taken is 2 hours, the second option, tourists can ride a speed boat which takes only 40 minutes but the cost will be more expensive that is around Rp100,000.

For accommodations and facilities on the island, it has a modest cottage; which of its price you can bargain while for fulfilling your hunger appetite, there are some small restaurants you can visit to.
