Do you often travel by plane ? If yes, you should take a look of these airplane accident.

1. Tenerife Airport Disaster

The accident occurred on 27 March 1977, involving two type of airplane "heavy jet" that is Boeing 747-121 (Pan American World Airlines), 747-206B (KLM Royal Dutch Airlines). The two planes collided on the runway, it took 583 casualties and 61 survivors. This incident originated from terrorism action in Grand Canaria Airport where it should have two aircraft landed, while due to a bomb exploded at the airport those 2 airplanes were transferred to the Airport of Tenerife.

The first officer of KLM aircraft had misunderstood the instructions from the control tower due to busy airport conditions as well as the radio transmitter. Moreover the thick fog in the airport also greatly affects visibility.

According to many sources, the KLM aircraft perform "refueling or recharging fuel which automatically will affect the weight of the aircraft and require longer distances to reach the speed" V Rotate "or where the plane started to raise its cockpit. If KLM did not perform refueling, there is still the possibility of collision can be avoided

2. Japan Airlines Flight 123

JAL with flight number 123 is a domestic flight from Tokyo to Osaka using 747-SR46. Using the 747 as domestic flight is unusual. JAL123 crash on 12 August 1985, it was claimed 520 casualities and only 4 were survive.

The Airplane lost its stabilizer because of decompression on the back causing the stabilizer fly out from its place, while a hydraulic fluid which has a function of moving the airplane was out of place due to the crack. These absolutely make the airplane uncontrollable, and finally the plane crashed into the mountain in the inverted position

The Accident occurred due to the lack of maintenance. In 1978, JAL123 experience tailstrike incident "the rear end of an airplane touches the runway". JAL did not perform the maintainance procedure as what it is recommended by boeing.

3. Lockerbie Disaster

This unfortunate event coincided 4 days before Christmas 1988, killing all passengers and crew. PanAm Flight 103 is 747-121 type aircraft with route Heathrow-JFKennedy. The airplane exploded just above the village of Lockerbie, Scotland

This airplane investigation is the most amazing investigation because the plane's black boxes exploded in the air which makes the investigation more difficult. With debris scattered over a vast area of England, indeed overwhelmed the team of investigators.

Believe or not this case revealed with just small evidence or even smaller than your finger. It is the circuit board of a bomb that made the barometer as a trigger. The bomb was kept in a radio stored in a leather bag.

The following solved chronology of the crash:
1. The discovery of a radio circuit boards where the bomb is located, and investigators also found bomb circuit boards.
2. The discovery of the suitcase which they use to put the radio containing the bomb
3. With the ingenuity of investigators, they can find clothes that were contained within the suitcase as well as contains the radio, then they find the clothes manufacturer. Finally Libya clothing manufacturers were discovered. Incidentally led by Moammar Gaddafi of Libya who hate America.
4. After conducting further investigation, eventually Abdelbaset Ali al-Megrahi who served as intelligence in Libya arrested for his involvement in this case, he is also reportedly close to the company who make those bomb.

Libya eventually paid U.S.$ 2.7 billion to all the victims of Lockerbie. It was not long after the accident happened, PanAm declared bankrupt.

4. Mid-air collision

Saudi Arabian Airlines Flight 763 was a Boeing 747-168B aircraft that fly over the route of Delhi, India towards Dhahran, Saudi Arabia on November 12, 1996. This airplane suffered the worst accident in aviation since collided in the air with Air Kazakhstan Flight 1907 who at the same time flying the route Shymkent, Kazakhstan towards Delhi, India.

In Saudi flight 763, airline pilots named Khalid AlShubaily. Co-pilot aircraft named Nazir Khan perform radio communication with one control officer in Delhi, named VK Dutta. And engineers (enginner) 763 plane named Evris Arabia. While the Kazakh flight 1907, a pilot named Gennadi Cherepanov, and the Kazakh aircraft radio operator named Egor Repp 1907.

The crash killed all 349 people on board. Egor Repp made a mistake in measuring height. 1907 Kazakh supposed to be at the level of elevation 150 and Saudi 763 is on the level of elevation 140. When Repp realize that the plane flew too low, he said to Capt. Gennadi Cherepanov. "Keep an altitude of 150. Do not fall!" he said. "How much height as instructed?" Cherepanov said with confuse mode. Later, Captain Cherepanov instructed the co-pilot to increase the speed.

Kazakh 1907 directly spurred himself to fly to Saudi 763. Then Repp said, "Up to 150, because in 140 there ... that was!" Egor Repp said, "That one!" when the Saudi plane flying above it, and appeared in sight crew Kazakh 1907. Left-wing of Saudi 763 was torn by Kazakh 1907 tail, and left horizontal stabilizer as well. 5.5 meters was torn apart, and without it Saudi 763 crews cannot control the plane. Pilot of U.S. Air Force cargo plane, Capt. Timothy J. Place was an eyewitness of the accident. "Cloud flushed, as if he could feel the heat,"

First day of investigation, the black box of the Kazakh 1907 and Saudi 763 were found. Investigators make an estimation of the cause of the accident: It is either VK Dutta (SUA control tower officer) made a mistake, airplane crew error, or failure of one of the airplane's instrument. Before knowing the cause of the accident, they should look at existing data on the FDR and CVR of both planes.

Saudi plane's black box was analyzed in the UK. Saudi airplane's crew flied on a regular basis at a height that is determined by Dutta, namely the level of 140 (4300 m). However, Kazakh crew did not fly regularly. Dutta wants a plane that departed from Indira Gandhi International Airport is under the plane which went to Indira Gandhi Airport. However, the Kazakh 1907 is in the level of 4299 m, 300 m lower than the specified height and 3 metres lower than Saudi 763.

The investigators blamed the cockpit layout of the airplane Ilyushin Il-76 that is Height gauge installed in the front of pilot's seat. However, there is no height gauge in front of radio operator, Egor Repp.

How is it? Are you fear already? I hope you're not because somehow if you want to travel a distant places you still have to use airplane.
My advice is to trace down their airlines profile and their flight history, while the other factor that would affect is weather so before choosing your date flight, obviously you have to check the weather forecasting too.
