Admit it! When we hear someone introduce himself as the CEO (Chief Executive Officer), we often feel an admiration. Authority, salary, and opportunities to become the boss. Of course it all makes us amazed!

Unfortunately, very few CEOs are good at their jobs. In fact only 1 in 20 people CEOs is at the top. And most of them do not know what their job actually, and only a few can do well.

Then how is important their performance as a CEO for a company? CEO's job could be say simple, but it's not easy at all.

A CEO is the one who has the highest level of responsibility than the other jobs. A CEO could be responsible for the tasks of daily operations till the necessary actions for a business move.

In a pioneering an effort in particular, the role of CEO is crucial. He is a leader who is responsible for the failure or success of a company. Operations, marketing, strategy, financing, creation of corporate culture, human resources, recruitment, termination of employment, sales, public relations, and so on. All these matters are generally handled by a CEO.

That is why a CEO should be well chosen. And if we have a business and we want to choose someone as CEO, we must know what requirements must be met by an individual in order to run a mandate as a CEO. And for those of you who have become CEO, the following point may be a reflection of whether you're doing a good job or not:



1. A CEO who lead
CEO leads a team by creating a strong culture among the team he led and constantly encourage them to eager in doing their jobs respectively. They drew up a financial system.
A competent CEO is the one who is able to provide the spirit and is doing well in the same time. CEO who became a true leader makes his teammates want to work with the same overflowed enthusiasm to help  company to achieve its goals.


2. A CEO who act to be clear
A reliable CEO is determine and communicate the strategy and create a buy-in into this strategy. Excellent quality of a CEO are the one who knows already has a solid team to help creating strategy or market plan and they give employees many opportunities to consider using their point of view.

The team members are not necessarily allowed to confusion with the concerned strategy because they could repeat the strategy again. Even if they're willing so, these strategies can be printed and displayed on office walls.


3. A CEO who want to go directly to the field
A good CEO does not hesitate to help in planning out the distribution plan on the field / market and create a source of income and better results. He was willing to go to the field with his team members to attend a number of significant sales agreement or to consider why the company lost a golden opportunity in sales. A dream CEO is also willing to assist, balancing priorities and inspire his team to win the golden opportunity that would came later. CEO is able to sorting out errors rapidly in job evaluation so that success can be achieved in the future.


4. A CEO who can take action strategically
A dream CEO know what to do and how to do it. This is what a must-have ability: the ability to perform properly and fairly, observing surroundings, anticipating competition and provide feedback based on what he received. CEOs are able to act swiftly and deftly anytime and anywhere if, for example, he must engage in a brainstorming activity or exchange ideas. He understands his team very well and do not ignore the input from team members.


5. A CEO who knows his weakness
The ideal CEO is the one who know well what are the advantages he has and the best time to take off the attributes he had. He is willing to delegate the task of leadership that he had less expertise to the team members or others who are much more competent than him. They could reposition themselves as the leader or CSO (Chief Strategy Officer) or the Chief Revenue Officer and realize whether it is time to lead a larger company or even smaller.

If a company is still in the early phase and looking for funding, the majority of investors will ask, "Does this person is a long-term CEO for this company? Could this person advance the company or make a powerful exit strategy ? "If his answer to these investors are hesitant or negative, we are sure the investors will cancel their investment.
